Is It about time for a new COD Game Engine?

It’s been a long, long time since 2005 hasn’t it? Call of Duty 2 cheats came out then and he we are in 2012 with Modern Warfare 3 cheats. Still running that same engine, just with little updates. I am no Call of Duty hater by any means. I believe the developers at Infinity Ward and Treyarch know how to make the perfect multiplayer game, albeit one with an addictive sales point. However, these games have been growing and growing in popularity since the release of Call of Duty 2, and what has Activison done to help improve the game? Hmm, nothing.

Here we are in 2012 and there’s still plenty missing from the Call of Duty series cheats. We still have no dedicated servers, even though we shell out $60 or more depending on which version of the game you buy. Plus another $60 per year for extra DLC and yet, what have the Call of Duty MW3 hacks fans been rewarded with? Nothing. Activision, it’s time for you to step up and make Call of Duty the game it should be. I think any Call of Duty fan who is reading this article would without a doubt agree that it is past due time for an updated engine, dedicated servers and maybe just a little bit of appreciation from Activision for increasing their profits each year.

If the Call of Duty Black Ops 2 cheats rumors are true, I think we can all expect a firestorm of fanboy wars and people saying “oh great, another copy and paste effort.” Each year I hear plenty of people online and offline saying they won’t be purchasing the next Call of Duty Black Ops cheats because it’s the same thing all over again and end up buying it anyways. I felt cheated as a Call of Duty player from the moment I put MW3 in and started playing online. Jump back into MW2 or MW for a few minutes and see how many major differences you can see, besides a few little game changers and upgrades here and there. Forecasters said Black Ops cheats wouldn’t sell as well as Mw2 cheats and it out did that in it’s first week, same as MW3 with Black Ops. I have no doubt the next Call of Duty Black Ops 2 hacks will surpass Mw3 cheats sales as well, and I think we can all bet on seeing the same game once more. Maybe they’ll prove me wrong this year though. It’s all up to the players in the end though if they want a better game.

DICE's Hints At A 'Treat' And More Fixes to BF3 Cheats

Activision Will Enhance Call of Duty Every Few Weeks

Speaking to Wired.com via phone last month, Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg said the company looks at the popular shooter series as a persistent world for its players, one that is both constantly evolving and perpetually played.

“The idea of giving people constant incremental playable content and making it so you’re never more than a few weeks away from the next new experience within the Call of Duty universe is part of what we’re experimenting with,” Hirshberg said.

“This franchise doesn’t really behave like most franchises,” he said. “It’s become something of a year-round activity for a large percentage of our player population.”

 

Activision released Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, the series’ eighth installment, last November for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii and PC. The game moved 6.5 million copies in the U.S. and U.K. during its first 24 hours, setting a brand new day-one sales record and earning the company $400 million. In December,Modern Warfare 3 hit the $1 billion mark.

The Activision chief said that to continue achieving this kind of massive financial success, the company has to listen closely to the desires of its fans. What they want, he said, is more downloadable content. Though 2010′s Call of Duty: Black Ops was followed by the release of several new multiplayer map packs, Hirshberg says that its players are looking for more.

“One of the things that was most appealing when we were researching these ideas with consumers is the idea of breaking up the DLC so that it comes more often and more regularly,” Hirshberg said. “We want to provide DLC to people more often and also experiment with more of a variety in the forms of playable content.”

The publisher might release missions or spec-op modes instead of just multiplayer maps, Hirshberg said.

A large chunk of Activision’s “always on” strategy for Call of Duty is riding on Elite, a hybrid social-networking and stat-tracking service that Activision released alongside Modern Warfare 3 last year. Despite some early technical hiccups, the service has been a rousing success, garnering over a million premium subscribers during its first week online.

Premium members pay a $50 yearly subscription fee to get free access to all of the game’s downloadable content in addition to a host of features and strategy guides.

Though it’s tough to predict how Elite will evolve over the next few years, Hirshberg says the company’s strategy is to communicate with fans as much as possible, using social networking tools like Twitter and online message boards to accumulate data on what Call of Duty players want and tweak the nascent service accordingly.

“The nature of this kind of service requires constant iteration,” Hirshberg said. “There are things [in development] that consumers don’t yet know they want… because they can’t imagine it,” he said.

BF3 – Next Update to “Improve Jet vs Heli vs Ground balance,” Dev Defends Bolt-Action Changes

Senior Gameplay Designer, Alan Kertz, defends his decision to give bolt-action rifles the ability to one-hit-kill in the chest at close range and reveals what balance issues he’s considered.

First, Kertz clarified the range at wich this new change will be effective when a fan asked if the upper chest 1-shot kill will be the same as the 870′s 1-shot slug kill range. He replied, “indeed the range is the same.” Kertz believes this change should help keep all weapons balanced since, at the moment, Battlefield 3 “is faster up close. All other guns are deadlier since BC2 except snipers,” according to Kertz. To keep thing in perspective, he added that bolt-actions also have ”abysmal hip accuracy, horrifically low fire rate, and the requirement to hit a small target. I’ve just made it bigger.” This seems like a fair adjustment, but nevertheless, it will be interesting to see how the community responds to it once the change has taken place.

Recently, Kertz compiled a list of bolt-action rifle and other future updates which went into detail regarding changes to vehicles and the balance between them, on top of outlining more reasons for the change to bolt-action rifles. Regarding this list, Kertz would like to say “thanks to the Community for some great feedback.” He added that “the next update should have much improved Jet vs Heli vs Ground balance,” something we can all look forward to since vehicle warfare is a huge component to the Battlefield 3 experience.
